John Goodman has gotten to work with several legendary actors over the years, and he recently opened about his time working with Elizabeth Taylor in 1994's The Flintstones.
"Elizabeth Taylor was my mother-in-law in The Flintstones. She took a fall in the film, so we were just squatting around her, talking to her," Goodman, 73, told People in an interview published on Saturday, July 19. "I just got her talking about [Richard] Burton a little bit when she was on the floor, and it was wow."
Taylor and Burton were one of the most talked about couples in Hollywood and they frequently made headlines. They were first married from 1964 until 1974, and they got married a second time from 1975 to 1976.
Goodman appeared in The Flintstones as Fred Flintstone, while Taylor's role as Wilma Flintstone's mom, Pearl Slaghoople, was her final movie appearance. Taylor died in 2011 at the age of 79 of congestive heart failure.
"There's old-school movie stars and then there's Elizabeth Taylor," the Roseanne star continued. "She was at the zenith in her life and in films. I never thought I'd ever get to meet her."
In addition to Goodman and Taylor, the live action film also starred Halle Berry, Rick Moranis, Rosie O’Donnell, Elizabeth Perkins and Kyle MacLachlan.
Goodman opened up about working with Taylor one week after Berry, 58, recalled her experience on set of the movie.

Berry appeared in the film as Miss Sharon Stone, Fred Flintstone’s seductive secretary. After an X account shared photos of her in the movie, Berry shared the original post and wrote, "Lol I’m seeing this almost weekly."
"Did you guys know I went into this somewhat shy as I hadn’t really played this type of vixen/seductress role up until this point," she added.
Shortly after Berry made the admission, several fans commented that they were impressed with her performance. "You did amazing because WOW," one person commented, while another chimed in, "Well you did so amazing no one would know this by watching! A true beauty just naturally. It was gonna give vixen without you even trying! And did!!"
