Outlander star Richard Rankin, who plays Roger MacKenzie on the hit STARZ series, and fiancée SammieRussell took their wedding vows last Thursday in a celebration at the Hopetoun House just outside of Edinburgh included a number of Rankin’s castmates from the series based on the bestselling novels by Diana Gabaldon.
According to the Daily Record, those in attendance included Caitríona Balfe (Claire Fraser), Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser), Lauren Lyle (Marsali MacKimmie Fraser), John Bell (Young Ian), Joey Phillips (Denzell Hunter), Izzy Meikle-Small (Rachel Hunter), Caitlin O'Ryan (Lizzie Wemyss), Paul Gorman (Josiah and Kezzie Beardsley) and Outlander: Blood of My Blood star Jamie Roy, who will be playing Jamie’s father Brian Fraser in the series that premieres on August 8.

Missing in action was Sophie Skelton, who plays Rankin’s on-screen wife Brianna, but word is that she may have been tied up filming the faith-based I Can Only Imagine sequel, which filmed mainly in Nashville, TN.

But the real scoop was posted by Benjamin Wheeler, who included 15 wedding photos in his post: “A huge congratulations to the beautiful Sammie & Richard, the most epic day celebrating their marriage on Thursday in Scotland. A proper love story etched with enough Scot X Aussie energy to last a lifetime, hosted just outside Edinburgh at Hopetoun House.“Sammie wore a beautiful @galialahav dress for the ceremony before changing in to a sleek @daniellefrankelstudio from @helenrodriguesbridal & @rachelscottcouturebride. Next for Rankin, who has played Roger MacKenzie in all eight seasons of Outlander, is the move to the early 20th century for his role in The Forsythe Saga, based on John Galsworthy’s Nobel Prize-winning trilogy of novels. No information on Rankin’s role has yet been released. Season 1 of The Forsythe Saga will appear on Masterpiece on PBS in 2026.
The final season of Outlander -- Season 8 – will air on STARZ sometime in 2026.
